Yup, that’s what is in my mind for almost 18 months and I
hope the same is with everyone who had work experience and now studying. To be
clear, this doubt is in everybody’s minds, who wish to study MBA.
But, have any of us thought why does a person with work
and at least 5 digits salary think of doing a MBA? Here are some of the reasons
which I think would be the factor to opt for MBA.
LOW
SALARY: People believe that MBA can give them high salary (i.e. better than
current salary) which is still a confusing idea given the investment for MBA.
2 JOB
DISSATISFACTION: Another interesting thing is when you don’t like to work and
you feel changing the company will not bring any favour. No other option when
you see colleges advertise preference given to people with minimum work
experience (say 2 years) ends up joining MBA.
3 UNCLEAR
MIND: On a majority after UG nobody has a clear vision, even when they join a
company, added to the dish there is always some interesting person in every family
who washes your brain and your parents mind and force you to take up MBA.
Coming to the point, do people with work experience
really have an edge over others?
OR
It is necessary that for MBA work experience is
mandatory?
What do people with experience bring to college or class?
1 REALITY
- They know much about the working environment.
- They know who are the bosses and boss attitude.
- They know that working is very much different
from what you learn
during college.
2 PRACTICALITY
- It deals with the project and what it looks
like to be in a project.
- Art of finishing the project under the time
period is possible if and
only if quality is reduced or if you’re sleeping time
is reduced.
3 IMPRESSION:
Important factor to look upon when you ask people about your yearly appraisal
the first phrase that comes out of their mouth is, “It’s unfair, and I don’t know how to impress my manager”. They knew even
social loafing not by the name but knew it by work.
4 There
is nothing ethical in your office. Even friendship is supposed to be outside
your cabin or even office. The office is a stadium where you can be a winner or
a loser and never a spectator.
Now coming to the college
placements. Does it really help people with work experience? There is always a
conflict in this segment.
· Only one or two companies look for people
with work experience.
· The salary of everybody in a college is
averagely same regardless of work experience.
This is what will happen when you write about a topic
which is crucial. I say work experience is necessary for MBA and also it is not
necessary for MBA which depends upon many factors which cannot be explained.
When you look at top CEO’S majority of them wouldn't have
work experience and MBA to reach this stage where they are now. This also
leads to other topic which says “whether MBA is necessary to become a
successful CEO”. One thing is clear to become a manager in short span work
experience and MBA or MBA is useful.
